Public Notice: Public Hearing to approve an ordinance creating voting district and precincts

May 19, 2011

Editor’s note: Part of our coverage here at Shenandoah Sunshine will include the publication of public notices issued by various governing bodies. While these notices are generally found on their websites and are required by law to be published in a newspaper of general circulation, we think its important to share them via social media as well. What’s more, we can/will do some things others won’t–for example, below we have included the proposed district boundary map as a JPG file for your viewing ease. Enjoy!

The Shenandoah County Board of Supervisors will conduct a Public Hearing in accordance with the Code of Virginia, as amended, in the Board Meeting Room of the County Government Center, at Woodstock, Virginia on May 24, 2011, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The purpose of this Public Hearing is to receive public comment regarding the intent of the Board of Supervisors to approve an ordinance creating voting districts and precincts in accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, such reapportionment of voters into districts and precincts being made necessary by the completion of decennial census.

A copy of the Ordinance and Reapportionment Plan is available for review in the office of the County Administrator, 600 N Main Street, Suite 102, Woodstock, Virginia, during regular business hours.
